Fire Stopping

& Certification

UKFSI offer a complete range of Passive Fire Protection services to the commercial and private sectors. This includes installation of new systems, certification of existing fire stopping systems, and any fire safety upgrades that are required.

We are proud to provide our clients with a cost effective fire safety service that is tailored to their property. Passive Fire Protection (PFP) is a crucial element of any buildings fire protection system.

It should be planned and assessed from the very first stages of a buildings design, all the way through its life cycle. It should also be subject to the same rigorous installation documentation, periodic inspection and certification as active fire protection systems. Poor Passive fire protection within a building potentially poses a serious safety risk for a buildings occupants and fire fighters in the event of a fire. A building with poorly maintained or incorrectly fitted fire stopping, could potentially be as dangerous as a building with no fire stopping at all.

The UK Government is currently reviewing all building fire safety regulations as a result of the Grenfell Tower tragedy. UKFSI can help property owners and building safety managers stay compliant with new fire safety regulations as they are introduced.

Have you had a FIRE RISK ASSESSMENT completed that has revealed fire safety and building compartmentation issues?

UKFSI can help with the following:

1. Removal of non compliant fire stopping products and systems - eg pink gap filling foam.

2. Service penetration seals around cables, cable tray and trunking, pipework and ducting and compliance with BS7671:2018.

3. Compartmentation Surveys - to help stop the rapid spread of smoke and fire through a building.

4. Inspection and certification of fire doors.
