Lift Servicing Managers

Does your company have any fire fighting or evacuation lifts on service contracts?

Are you confident that these lifts shafts have been fire stopped correctly?

Under the fire fighting lift regulations EN 81-58:2015 (Annex J). It is the responsibility of both the lift service provider and the building manager to check that the lift operates correctly under fire conditions.

Each fire resistant landing entrance should have a minimum of 60mins fire resistance from both the lift landing side and the lift shaft side (to give 120mins total fire resistance). All gaps around the entrance frame must also have the same fire resistance rating as the element it is protecting.

UKFSI can provide you with a detailed report on the level of fire stopping within your lift shaft and it’s specific fire resistance rating (helping you to fulflll your requirements under the new Fire Safety Legislation 2021).
